LCA+ method: EN 15804 and material footprint

Our LCA+ method combines the EN 15804 indicators and the material footprint to comprehensively assess the ecological and resource-conserving quality of products and buildings.

Material footprint

The material footprint measures the life cycle-wide resource consumption based on the indicators:

  • RMI (Raw Material Input): kg raw materials
  • TMR (Total Material Requirement): kg primary material

You can find more information about the method here.

Indicators according to EN 15804

EN 15804 defines environmental indicators for assessing the ecological quality of buildings based on environmental product declarations (EPDs):

  • Until 2022: EN 15804+A1
  • From 2022: EN 15804+A2

Both versions are used in national and international sustainability certification systems. Find out more under SURAP LCA methods.
